Gone

I watched as Anna was being treated and Albert was talking to Trent who seemed on the verge of a break down.

i sat down and looked at my now dirty shoes. that always called me down when things were going wrong. JAsper was sitting next to me looking more worried than the rest of us

Jasper sighed. "I..I need some air.." He looked down at me with worry on his face. I'm alive..and I'm not going anywhere. I said to him through my thoughts. Jasper nodded and leaned down and kissed my forehead. "I'll be in here with her.." Carlisle said. "My shift was over an hour ago anyway.." Carlisle half smiled and sat down in the chair that Jasper was in while he walked out of the hospital room. I sighed and put my head back against the pillow and shut my eyes. Feeling extremely drowsy. "Sweetheart..do you feel like you're sleeping?.." Carlisle's soft voice filled my ears. I nodded signifying a yes to his question and he sighed slightly. "Well, that just means the venom is working.." He said. What Venom?.. I asked him through my thoughts. "Well..when you and Jasper both came to me...I saved some of the venom that I used to change you two in case of emergencies like this one..." He explained. "It seems to help you two more than it does anybody else.." He added. I nodded and rested my head back against the pillow.


I walked into the waiting room in the hospital and realized that Albert, Angelica, Jacob, Anna, and Trent were just coming into it. I sighed and sat down in a chair closest to Kenna's room. The three of them made their way over to me. "How is she?..." Angelica asked. I shook my head. "Not doing so good.." I said. I glanced over at Trent just as Angelica asked him what was wrong. Something was bothering him. I could tell. He seemed to care a lot about my sister. It made me sad to realize that someone might actually be taking my--no it shouldn't matter, I'm just her brother. Emmett was right--I'm just her brother, not her boyfriend. I sighed and stared at the floor. "Tren whats wrong" Angelica asked. Trent bit his lip. "Its just that im worried about her." He said quietly. I closed my eyes and sighed. "Don't worry she'll be fine " Albert added. "He's right..she'll be fine.." I said finally, getting up and walking over to Trent. "I wanted to thank you..for protecting her...if it wasn't for you she would've been killed.." I said, putting a hand on his shoulder. Trent nodded "You're welcome...she's an amazing girl..I honestly don't know why someone would want to hurt her that way...she didn't do anything wrong..she was just trying to protect her family..." He rambled and I nodded. "That's what we do..The Cullens are supposed to protect one another, and stick together..that's why we're so close....but the connection that Kenna and I have..is deeper than any other connection in our family...because she's my twin..I can sense every single emotion that she feels..." I sighed "Happiness, saddness, anger...everything..it's all there....even..." I bit my lip. "Even what?.." Trent looked at me confused. I sighed again and locked eyes with him. "Love..." I said sincerely. "She's starting to love you Trent..."


I honestly couldn't believe what I was hearing from Jasper. Kenna's starting to love me?...already?.. I thought to myself. Jasper chuckled and nodded. "Well...put it this way..it's the same kind of thing that happened between Edward and Bella...except Bella's still human...but there was this instant connection between them..something my family couldn't understand..but then..we saw them together..and we knew something was there..something Bella couldn't share with anybody else..something powerful enough to keep them together for the rest of their lives.." Jasper said. I bit my lip. "Kinda like...imprinting?.." I asked. Jasper shrugged. "Well, kinda..in the same sense I guess..but Vampires and Werewolves are completely different..." He explained. "But what Kenna feels for you..is the same thing that Edward and feels for Bella.." He said. "Does that make sense?.." He asked. I nodded slowly. "I guess it does.." I admitted. "I mean..we've only known each other for a few hours.." Jasper shook his head. "Edward and Bella were the same way..as soon as Bella laid eyes on him...it was like BOOM..instant connection..." He said. I nodded, understanding exactly what he meant.

"Yeah..I know.." I added. Jasper sighed. "I just want to let you know...that whatever happens between you two..." Jasper paused and bit his lip. I sighed. "I promise Jasper..nothing is gonna happen to your sister..I'll protect her with my life.." I said. He sighed and nodded, I gave him a comforting hug, which I felt he needed. "Thanks man.." He said, hugging me back.

"We were all fighting him, Anna," Jacob said.
"I know," I said quickly. "I do know that. I swear I do. And I didn't mean what I said." I pushed myself off the table in the doctor's office and walked over to stand in front of him. "It was just a joke, Jake."
"It wasn't that funny," he said.
"I know that," I said exasperatedly. "I just...I just make bad jokes sometimes. I'm sorry. It was stupid."

"Jacob...I swear..you haven't changed at all.." I added, listening to his and Anna's conversation. Jacob shot me a look. "Shut up bloodsucker.." I smirked and sighed. "Yep..I was right..you haven't.." Jacob huffed and walked out of the waiting room. Anna turned to look at me. "Thanks Jasper..that was really helpful.." I shrugged. "I can't help it..it's in my blood.." I said. Anna rolled her eyes and shook her head, then walked out towards Jacob. Trent turned towards me. "What was that about?.." He asked. I shook my head. "Just some rivalry...that shouldn't even of started between Edward and Jacob, it kinda rubbed off onto me...since vampirse aren't really supposed to get along with werewolves.." I told him. "Ah..I see.." He said. I smiled slightly. "So...can I go in and see her?.." He asked. I shrugged. "I honestly don't know..Carlisle's in there right now with her because I needed to come out for some air.." I said. Trent hung his head and looked extremely dissappointed. "Trent..don't worry...she's not going anywhere.." I said, "She's just really drowsy and falling in and out of conciousness because of the venom that Carlisle had given her." Trent cocked an eyebrow and I sighed.

"Carlisle used the same venom to changed me to change Kenna. And he said something about it having a very positive effect on both of us..so he saved the remains in case of emergencies...like this..were to happen to either one of us..." I said. "So..it's like...a healing of some sort?.." He asked. I nodded. "Yeah..it just causes our bodies to get really drowsy...to the point where we could sleep if we wanted to..even for being vampires..." I said, smiling slightly.Trent sighed in relief and sank down into a chair. I stared back the floor and kept to myself, wondering when I'd be able to see my sister again.

"Listen, Anna," Jacob said after Jasper had left, "I'm sorry if I tried to make you feel guilty about that."
I looked up at him. "You didn't do anything wrong. I said something stupid, and you got offended. I'm no expert on this stuff, but I'm pretty sure you have the right to be offended."

After that Jacob and I sat together in an awkward silence, an event which seemed to be a recurring theme in my life, and it was eventually broken by Jacob asking, "So, Anna, how old are you?"
"Sixteen," I replied.
"No, I mean literally," he said.
"No so old," I said. "I was born in 1977, so I guess I'm only 31 really. Keep in mind, the number might be kinda off. You did just ask me to do math after nearly being ripped apart by a psychotic vampire."
"Well, sorry about this, but we're gonna have to deal with more of them," he said, shrugging.
"I know," I said. "We can't let 'em get away with it. So, what's the next move? Since you're the expert on it, I mean."
"We start looking from them before they take anyone else," he said, putting his head in his hands and kneading his fingers against his forehead. "They might move on since we've ruined everything here, or they might strike. I don't know. It's hard to guess."
I sat down next to him and asked, "How did you figure any of this out in the first place though?"
He shrugged. "You'd be surprised what you can find out when everyone thinks you're dead or a thousand miles away."
"Location, location, location?" I said.
Jacob turned and looked at me in disbelief. "Was that supposed to be funny?"
"Yeah," I admitted.
He shook his head and started laughing.
"Is my sense of humor really that bad?" I asked.
He kept laughing, and I narrowed my eyes at him.
"I am just as strong as you are, you know," I warned him, standing up on the table.
"Try me," he said, still laughing like a little kid.
I growled and lunged at the still laughing werewolf, landing on top of him and pinning him to the table.
"Looks like I win," I said, leaning over his face.
He only raised an eyebrow at me. That only made me smirk. Then an idea entered my head, and I ground my hips into his, slowly and leisurely. I leaned in closer as I did this so that my lips brushed against his when I said, "I win."
Jacob groaned, and I pulled away. When I was at the door, he asked, "Where do you think you're going?"
"To see Kenna," I called out. Then I found myself pressed against wall and heard the sound of a lock clicking. All in all, it was an effective, "No, you're not."

"Chair," I managed rasp when Jacob pulled away for a moment.
"You're panting," he whispered, seeming oddly self-satisfied.
"Well-observed," I said as I threw myself back at him and pushed him towards the chair in the northeast corner. I don't know how we got there--neither one of us pulled away from the desperate kiss--but suddenly, Jacob was sitting down, and I was straddling him and grinding my body against his.
So strong, I thought as his hands gripped me by the hips and pulled me into him again and again. So strong. He's so strong.
One of his hands let go of my hip and traveled up my back until it found my hair. Then it pulled my head back, breaking our kiss, and then his lips were on my neck, and I groaned when his mouth ghosted over an empty vein.
The play continued with his hands finding their way up my shirt, and my hands finding their way down further until...
And then it was finished.
I stood up and pulled away from him, staggering backwards.
"That was fun," I said quietly, still staring at him.
He looked at me through heavily lidded eyes and then said, "Everything's changed."
"It has," I agreed. "It definitely has."

I felt myself getting drowsier and drowsier by the second. Then groaned a little and winced. Carlisle looked up from doing paper work at the desk next to my bed. "Something wrong?.." He asked, rushing to my side. "Where does it hurt?.." He asked, placing a hand on my arm. I shook my head "It's not....it's just..Jacob and Anna..." I muttered. Carlisle sighed and wiped his forehead. "Oh yeah...I was wondering when you'd be able to sense that...it's finished now..." I made a sour face. "That's kinda...weird.." I said, sighing and resting my head back against the pillow. Carlisle took the IV out of my arm, making me wince a little. I always hated needles. He sighed. "Yeah it is weird..but you know anything can happen..." He said, putting another IV in my arm, "You'll only have to have a little more of this.." He said, I bit my lip. "I think I'm gonna be sick..." I said, feeling woozy, not from the venom, from watching the needle slide into my arm into my cold veins. Carlisle smiled slightly "You're just like Bella when it comes to needles..I forgot about that.." He said.

"Whose...all out there?.." I asked. Carlisle looked towards the door. "Your brother..Anna, Albert, and Trent.." He sighed "And Jacob and Anna are off on their own.." He added. I bit my lip, turning my head and stared out of the window. "They're wanting to see you Kenna.." He said quietly. Running a hand through my hair. "All of them..Especially your brother.." I sighed and shut my eyes. "I know..are they allowed?.." I asked. He chuckled a little. "Of course..but I only think it'd be appropriate if you only have one visitor at a time. Visiting hours are over for today, but since you're my daughter..I'll make an exception.." He said, leaning down and kissing my forehead. "I'll go out and let them know..I'll be back soon..got more patients to attend to..." He said, studying my face. "You're gonna be alright Kenna.." He promised. I smiled slightly and hugged my father. "Thanks dad.." I muttered. He smiled slightly and hugged me back. "You're welcome.." He said, kissing my forehead again. "I'll be back soon.." And with that, he turned on his heel and walked out of my room. I sighed and shut my eyes, trying my best to relax.


It seemed a lot longer than just a half hour, waiting outside for Carlisle to come out and tell us that my sister would be alright, was like torture. I twiddled my thumbs and continued to stare at the floor. Listening to Angelica and Albert giggling every once in a while, and Trent's gameboy going off. Super Mario Brothers..I should've known.. I smiled slightly, thinking that to myself. Suddenly, Kenna's door opened and Carlisle stepped out briskly, shutting it behind him. I stood up and walked over to him. "How is she?.." I asked. Carlisle smiled slightly and put a hand on my shoulder. "Jasper..Kenna's gonna be fine.." I sighed a big sigh of relief. "Well, can I see her?.." Carlisle nodded. "Yes you can...but I only advise that she have one visitor at a time..." He said sternly. He opened the door slightly and let me past him to walk into my sister's room.


I watched as Jasper walked past me into Kenna's room and shut the door slowly behind him. He needed to see her, I could tell they had a lot to talk about. I sighed and walked away from the door into the waiting room. Finding Angelica, Trent, and Albert. "Hello you all.." I said cheerfully. "Is she gonna be alright sir?.." Trent asked, putting his gameboy down and looking up at me with hope and saddeness in his eyes. I smiled slightly and nodded. "Please, call me Carlisle..and yes she's gonna be fine..Jasper's in there with her right now.." He sighed a relief, making me chuckle to myself. Young Love... I thought to myself, then sighed. "I just wanted to let you all know that Kenna's allowed to have visitors. But you all are gonna have to go in one at a time..it's a hospital policy..Jasper's in there right now..so you guys can decide whose next...I figured since he's her brother, he'd be the first one." Trent, Angelica and Albert nodded. I smiled slightly "Just please let Anna and Jacob know when they come back..from whatever it is that they're doing.." I added. Then turned on my heel and left down the hallway to tend to other patients.

I smiled slightly as I watched the door to my room open. I knew it was my brother, I could sense it. I sat up slightly on the gurney and rested my back against it. "Hi you.." I said tiredly. He smiled slightly and shuffled over to my bed. "How is everybody?..." I asked, yawning a little. He sighed and sat in the chair next to the bed. I sighed. "Jasper..sit up here.." I said, scooting over a little so he could sit next to me on the bed. He smiled slightly again and got up from the chair, then hopped up onto the bed next to me. "Everybody's worried about you.." He said finally. I sighed and rested my head on his shoulder. He put an arm around my shoulder and rubbed my forearm. "But I think Trent is worried the most.." He added. I looked up at him with a worried look on my face. Jasper sighed. "Kenna..I wanted to talk to you about something.." I sighed and shook my head.

"There's really nothing to talk about Jazzy.." I said. Alice and I were the only ones that he'd allow to call him that, I just didn't do it as much as Alice did. He sighed. "I know you love him.." He said quietly. "And I know there's nothing I can do to change that...I need to get over the fact that I'm not your boyfriend...I'm your brother.." I nodded and hugged him around the waiste. "But that doesn't mean I don't love you any less.." I muttered. He smiled and sighed, hugging me back. "I know it's just a little weird.." He said. "I mean, We've been..." I giggled and smiled at him. "Attatched by the hip ever since we were born.." I finished his sentence.

He grinned and nodded. "Yeah..it's just gonna be a little...strange having to share you with someone else.." I bit my lip. "Jas...how do you think I felt when you met Alice?.." I asked.

He sighed and nodded. "I know, I know..it's just.." I shook my head. "If Alice doesn't mind...since she's my sister and probably one of my best friends..if she doesn't mind us hanging out like we do...and Trent loves me enough and seems to love hanging out with you.." I said, he smiled slightly again. "He shouldn't have any problem with us being attatched at the hip either.." I joked. He chuckled and nodded. "Okay, Okay..I see your point.." He said, looking down at me and kissing my forehead. I smiled and looked up at him, then frowned slightly when I noticed the handprint across his right cheek. "I didn't mean to hit you that hard..." I said sullenly. He smirked and shook his head. "It doesn't matter..you were angry...I shouldn'tve said what I said..I'm sorry Kenna.."

I shook my head. "It doesn't matter now..all that matters is that we're both alive..and not mad at each other.." I said. Jasper chuckled and shook his head. "I could never be mad at you..well, maybe sometimes.." He joked. I shook my head and rested it back against his shoulder. We sat in silence for a minute. "I love you Kenna.." Jasper said finally. I smiled and hugged him again. "I love you too bro.." I said, "Have you talked to Emmett lately?.." I asked, He shook his head. "No..I haven't..we got into an arguement after you ran away and I'm kinda aggrivated at him for treating you like that..." I sighed and bit my lip. "He had no right to say what he said..."

"No..no he didn't.." Jasper said, shaking his head. "He's probably going to want to apologize and have a talk with you..Rosalie scolded him pretty good, and she's the only one that can make him realize how stupid he was for acting that way.." He said. I sighed and shut my eyes, feeling drowsy again. Jasper brushed my face with the back of his hand. "You alright?.." He asked. I nodded "I'm fine..just a little tired, that's all.." I said, he smirked and hugged me again. "So...do you want me to go.." I shook my head. "No..not really.." I admitted, and it was the truth. My brother made me feel calm and safe whenever I was around him, I loved him for his abilities to manipulate others' emotions, but it seemed to have the most effect on me. He chuckled and rubbed my arm.

"Well, I think Trent's wanting to see you.." He said, sitting up. "He's been looking like he was about to have a nervous breakdown.." I blushed a little. "Well..if you think it'd be best for me to see him.." Jasper smiled and kissed my cheek. "I think it'd be best for him if he'd got to see you." He said. I smiled slightly and shut my eyes, resting my head back against my pillow. Jasper gave me a final hug before getting up off of the gurney. He kissed me forehead "I'll see you later.." He said, I nodded slightly and he made his way towards the door. Then stopped just before going out of it. "I'm glad you're my sister Kenna..I wouldn't want anybody else to take your place.." I opened my eyes and smiled at him. "Thanks.." I said quietly. He nodded and smiled, then walked out of my room, shutting the door behind him. I smiled and sighed again, resting back against the pillow and shut my eyes.


I walked back out of my sister's room and into the waiting room. Trent's eyes locked with mine. I smiled slightly and nodded, "You can go see her now.." I said quietly. I turned to Angelica and Albert. "She's gonna be fine.." I told them. Ang looked worried and I could tell she wanted to see her. Trent sighed. "I won't be long..I promise.." He said to Angelica, she shook her head. "No..it's fine..don't worry about it..I can be patient.." She said. Albert snorted, making me laugh a little too.

"Sweetheart you're pratically jumping out of your seat every 2 seconds..." He joked. Angelica folded her arms. Then Trent sighed. "Ang..you can go see her first..I still need time to collect myself. I don't wanna look upset around her." He said. Angelica shook her head. "No..no that's fine..I'll wait.." I shook my head, looking over towards Trent. "No..why don't you go first Ang..I've got something to talk to Trent about anyways.." I said. Ang bit her lip and looked back at Albert, who nodded. "Go on..I'll be right here when you get back.." He told her.

Trent looked at me with a bit of confusion on his face. I smiled slightly and walked over to him. "You're not in trouble or anything..I promise.." I joked, putting hand on his shoulder. He smiled slightly and sighed, then nodded. "It's about Kenna though.." I told him. He bit his lip. "I kinda had a feeling it was.." He said. I sighed "Come on..let's go for a walk.." He nodded and walked out of the waiting room with me into the hallway next to it.

I walked out of the waiting room with Trent on my heels. I could tell he was a bit nervous about what I said. I smiled slightly and sighed, leaning against the wall. "Look..I just want to tell you that I know what's going on between you and Kenna..and that she loves you.." I kept my voice calm and quiet. Trent stared at me with intent eyes. "It's weird Jasper..."

He said, haning his head. I smiled slightly and chuckled, nodding my head. "I understand what you're going through..when I first met Alice...it was love at first sight, but since she actually foresaw me looking for her before I even realized that I was..it made everything a little easier, and I knew she'd accept me the way I was when I finally found her..." Trent folded his arms and bit his lip. "That's amazing Jasper.." He said. I grinned a little more "Yeah..she's perfect.." I sighed, then became serious again.

"But there is something I needed to talk to you about...You see.." I bit my lip and Trent listened quietly. "Kenna and I are extremely close...and sometimes..I forget that I'm just her brother.." I admitted, hanging my head. "We're attatched at the hip...been that way ever since we were born...and it's just weird for me to have to share her with someone..." Trent nodded "I undestand.." He said, and I could tell he meant it.

I smiled slightly and looked up at him. "So you don't mind us being around each other all the time?..I just feel like I need it..she's like apart of me...a part that keeps me alive.." Trent smiled and nodded again. "Yeah..I know what to you mean..it's like if she's sick...you're sick..if she worries..you worry..like you're one being in two bodies.." I nodded, "That's exactly how it feels..so now you see why it's so important to me.." I said. Trent nodded again. "Trust me..I more that understand...and I have no problem with it..." He said in a promising voice. I smiled slightly and sighed again. "Thanks Trent..she really loves you.." I said. Trent blushed a little.

"Well..I think I'm starting to feel that was towards her..it's just weird because it seems to be happening so fast..something like this has never happened to me before and I'm not really used to it...but it's like..when I"m around her..everything's perfect...like nothing in the world can upset me when I'm around her..like I'm at peace.." He explained.

I nodded and grinned again at his words. "That's exactly how it happened with Alice..and we've been inseperable ever since the day I met her.."

Trent smiled. "So..it's like Kenna's my soulmate.." I shrugged. "If that's the way you want it.." I said. Trent nodded. "I think that's exactly what I want..but I wanna take it slow at first..I mean, I know-" I shook my head. "Trent..it doesn't matter that you just met her...But I'm sure she'll respect you wishes, wanting to take it slow..she's not the kind of girl who rushes into things that she sets her heart on..she takes her time with everything and she's extremely patient.." I said, putting an arm on his shoulder. "So don't worry about rushing..that's the last thing she'll do.." Trent smiled slightly and nodded.

"Thanks Jasper..this helped a lot.." He said. I smiled and patted his shoulder. "No problem..Just remember what I told you.." I said. He nodded "I promise I'll remember.." He said. "Come on..let's go keep Albert company...I felt kinda rude leaving him in their on his own.." I chuckled and walked back into the waiting room with Trent, we found Albert sitting in a chair in the corner, reading a magazine. He smiled when he saw us. "Have a nice chat?." He asked. Trent and I smiled and nodded. "Yeah.." I said.


A few minutes later, I heard the door to my room open again. I smiled when I saw Angelica walk into the room. She smiled back at me. "Hello there Kenna. Hows it going." She giggled trying to lighten the mood. I sighed. "It's going good..Jasper and I made up..and that's all that matters...I'm sorry that we couldn't get to the mall like we planned..." I said, giggling a little, I looked down at my arm and rubbed my fingers lightly over the needle that was stuck in it. I sighed again, and looked up at Angelica. "So..is everybody okay out there?.." I asked, yawning a little.

As we walked to Kenna's room, Jacob didn't speak. He only led the way, seeing as I had been being fixed up when she had been cleared out.
"What is it?" I asked him.
"Sh," he said, "I'm having an epiphany."
"Oh," I muttered, mildly surprised considering he actually seemed about 50% serious. "Should I be worried?"
"Not unless I don't finish it," he replied.
The rest of the trip continued in silence.
"Hey, Kenna," I said as I opened the door. "How are you doing?"
